Build a map

Build a hex board for your dimension’s campaign missions, by clicking hexes directly — there’s no bulk upload for maps; you can import or export one map at a time as JSON.

  1. Open your dimension and go to the MAPS tab.
  2. Click New, name your map, and set its width and height (3–24 hexes each).
  3. Paint terrain with the T1 · plains, T2 · hills and T3 · peaks brushes — a hex’s elevation sets the question tier for moving onto it, or attacking a unit on it: plains Tier 1, hills Tier 2, peaks Tier 3. Use Void ✕ to erase a hex.
  4. Click Start to place where units enter the board, and Objective Slot to mark where the mission’s goal sits. You don’t pick the objective type: a map with an Enemy HQ marker (step 5) is always a capture-the-HQ mission; otherwise each attempt rolls one of Assault, Hold, Extraction, Eliminate or Capture, using the slot (and any Capture POI markers) as its target. Clicking the same marker on the same hex again removes it.
  5. Optionally place Enemy HQ, Garrison and Capture POI markers — placing an Enemy HQ is what makes this a capture-the-HQ mission.
  6. Under act ADR anchors, place at least three Act · Reward and at least three Act · Fix hexes — more than three only warns; the counter under the toolbar tracks how many you’ve placed. Under mission clarity ADR anchors, optionally place Block and Gate hexes.
  7. Watch the validation pill: ⛔ BLOCKED means a hard error (listed below it); ⚠ VALID WITH WARNINGS is saveable; ✓ VALID & WINNABLE is clean.
  8. Click Save to DB. A platform map is read-only for your dimension — click Dup on it first to get your own editable copy.
  • Start or the objective slot isn’t on a painted hex, or the objective slot is the same hex as start.
  • The objective slot isn’t reachable from start, or a Block anchor cuts the only path to it.
  • An anchor or a marker sits on a hex you haven’t painted.
  • Fewer than three Act · Reward anchors, or fewer than three Act · Fix anchors.
